ZUID launches Backstage, a unique internship program for creative talent

With the start of the new school and academic year, a new round of internships at many companies also begins. At ZUID Agency Group, that process deliberately looks different than previous years. As a network of creative agencies, they are launching Backstage, a program for creative talent that has the ambition to conquer the main stages.

Annemarieke Scheperkamp, managing director of ZUID Creatives: “Backstage is our answer to a changed labor market and the changing needs of a new generation. We've always been a brand for talent. As ZUID Agency Group, we are one of the main stages in the Dutch marketing landscape. And therefore a place where many creative students want to belong and experience. Based on our growth ambition and employer branding strategy, we want to get in touch with our future makers at an early stage.”

Five backstage passes for a unique experience

Five rough diamonds were selected from countless talented applications. With their lanyard and backstage pass, they participate in the creative execution of real assignments, and receive customized guidance through individual projects. But in addition, and that is an essential difference compared to traditional internships, they work as one full-fledged team within the organization. Annemarieke: “In large, dynamic and fast-growing organizations like ours, interns can sometimes unintentionally feel a bit lost. By organizing and facilitating them as a full-fledged team, including their own studio, we want to show them and feel that they really belong.”

A battle against the best in the bizz

Another unique aspect of Backstage is the Brand Battles, something coordinator Loek van den Boogaart is really looking forward to: “As a talent crew, they compete against their supervisors. In real cases, with similar weapons. Show that talent. Our sales team pitches their creative idea and implementation to our customers, along with our own work. By providing feedback from our customers and prospects, they get a realistic picture of what the market requires and needs. And they may be able to teach us something else.”

The first round of Backstage starts on August 29 with creative talents Zoë de Rooij, Jelle Spoek, Lara Janssen, Rana Altintas and Eva Lampe.
