A deliciously successful rebranding! Discover how we revitalised Plaza, Sligro's cafeteria formula, and put it back on the menu through creativity.

During a pitch, Sligro became convinced that by partnering with ZUID, the Plaza cafeteria formula could be revitalised and placed back on the menu. Sligro offers entrepreneurs the chance to franchise under the Plaza family, which is a promising proposition. However, the outdated appearance and growing competition had diminished the formula's appeal to both prospective franchisees and cafeteria patrons. ZUID took on the challenge of reigniting excitement among both customers and potential franchisees for Plaza once again.

Zuid, Sligro, and several dedicated franchisees collaborated to refine the brand's strategic direction, develop the creative concept, and establish a compelling tagline. We crafted a fresh logo, visual identity, and curated an extensive image library featuring enticing product shots and atmospheric photos. These creative elements were seamlessly integrated into the website, packaging, signage, narrowcasting, and promotional materials. With the foundation laid, our focus shifted to crafting engaging social media posts, implementing sales promotions, and introducing quirky gimmicks. We launched six national promotional offers, enticing snack enthusiasts to order from their local Plaza Cafeteria and earn rewards for exciting prizes, such as the "Piekandel" – a festive tree topper that looks like a traditional Dutch frikandel snack.

The new identity and initial successful promotions served as a catalyst for Plaza's continued growth. The cherry on top? Or should we say, the frikandel on the tree? The remarkable success of the 'Piekandel' promotional offer. Not only did we create all the (online) promotional materials, but we also enlisted influencers like Snackspert, Gio, and Stefan de Vries to showcase the festive Christmas peak on their channels. This resulted in a significant amount of free online exposure, with Snackspert's reel alone attracting 174k views. Through innovative real-time marketing hooks, high-profile promotional offers, and engaging social campaigns, we are dedicated to ensuring Plaza remains a staple on the menu.
